Dunn State Park is a popular park, providing a wooded, pond-side experience close to an urban environment. There is a family picnic area and beach, which are universally accessible, as well as two small playgrounds and exercise equipment spread along the trail system. The pond has a curving coastline with many interesting views of coves and an island. Ducks, gulls and turtles are often seen near the water and throughout the trails you might catch a glimpse of a chipmunks, squirrels and birds. The pond is stocked twice yearly with trout and has numerous fishing piers, two that are fully wheelchair accessible.
Recreation: The .75 mile Woodland Trail is designed for wheelchair accessibility and gives the user passage through the forested area adjacent to Dunn Pond. The 1.1 mile Pond Loop Trail begins and ends at the Pond House Visitor Center and provides access to beautiful views across the pond and numerous fishing piers.

Please be advised that this facility may reach capacity early in the day. Once the parking lot is full, your guests will not be able to enter. Please plan accordingly. All members of your party must pay the facility Parking Fee. Alcohol is prohibited in all DCR Facilities. Children must be attended at all times. Children 16 and under must wear bicycle helmets while riding bicycles. Pets must be attended and leashed at all times; are prohibited from swimming beaches and state buildings, including restrooms. Pick up after your pet and deposit waste in trash. Please clean up the area after use. Use available trash and recycling receptacles. Do not wash dishes in bathroom sinks or at public faucets. Bring paper goods for your outing or plan to transport and wash dishes at home. Decorations may be hung with thumb tacks or tape. No duct tape, nails or staples. Remove all balloons and decorations. Pavilion reservations are rain or shine events. There are no refunds, unless cancelled with ReserveAmerica prior to reserved date. Please be advised, the rental of this facility is generally for a self-catered picnic or simple gathering. Should you be interested in having a caterer, amplified music, a bounce house, fundraising event, etc. you will need to secure permission via a special event permit. There is a $45 non-refundable application fee, a Certificate of Liability Insurance will be required and you will be need to submit a Covid-19 Compliance Plan stating how you will meet the Governor’s guidelines.
